Description

Salary: £13.45 per hour
Contract: Fixed term until 30/09/2026
Hours: Variable hours
Schedule: Term time
Position: Part time 7.5 hours per week
Location: Kirkham Pear Tree School

Catering Assistant

Lancashire County Council provides catering services to over 500 schools across Lancashire, serving over 60,000 school meals per day. We are looking for committed individuals to join the service.

You will work as part of a team on a Fixed Term Contract at Pear Tree Special School. Providing high quality, healthy, balanced meals for school children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare the dining area for service, including the moving and setting up of furniture and putting away.
  • Assist in the preparation, cooking, and serving of food and beverages.
  • Clean all equipment and catering areas.

What We Are Looking For

  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and use own initiative.
  • Good customer care skills.
  • Previous catering and food preparation experience is essential.
  • Attention to detail essential.

Working Hours/Days

  • Days: Monday to Friday
  • Schedule: Term time only.
  • Additional Cleaning Days: 4 cleaning days per year above contracted hours
  • Contract Duration: Fixed term contract till September 30th initially

Hours per Week: 7.50 Hours
Daily Hours: 1.5hrs per day
Schedule: Monday to Friday over the lunchtime period. 11.45-1.15pm
