Catering Assistant I Schools Catering I St James Primary, Haslingden
Catering Assistant – Part-Time (Term Time)
Route: St James Primary School, Haslingden (£13.45 per hour)
Permanent, Variable Hours | Part-Time (5 hours per week) | Mon-Fri (Term Time Only)
Key Opportunity Lancashire County Council provides catering services across 500+ schools, serving 60,000+ school meals daily. This role offers the chance to be part of a dedicated team delivering high-quality, healthy meals in St James Primary School, Haslingden.
This role is not open to international sponsorship.
Main Responsibilities
- Prepare the dining area for service, including moving furniture and setting up for meals
- Assist with food preparation, cooking and serving of meals and beverages
- Clean and maintain all catering equipment and dining areas

Requirements
✅ Ability to work effectively in a team environment ✅ Strong time management and ability to initiate independently when needed ✅ Excellent customer care and interpersonal skills ✅ Essential: Previous experience in catering or food preparation
Working Arrangements
- Days: Monday to Friday (daily, term-time only)
- Hours: 5 hours/week (variable hours based on school meal demand)
- Start Date: September 2024
