Catering Assistant - Ormskirk Church of England Primary School
Location: Ormskirk | Contract Type: Part-time (Term Time Only) | Hours: 10/Variable Salary: £13.45 per hour | Fixed Term: 12 months
Lancashire County Council caters to over 500 schools, providing over 60,000 school meals per day. We are seeking a committed individual to join our team at Ormskirk Church of England Primary School, helping to prepare and serve high-quality, healthy meals for children.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the dining area is prepared for service (positioning furniture, setting up tables, etc.)
- Assist with:
- Meal preparation
- Cooking
- Food and beverage service
- Maintain cleanliness by:
- Washing and sanitising all equipment
- Tidying catering areas

What We Are Looking For
Essential/Desirable Qualities:
- Team player – Ability to work collaboratively
- Adaptability – Comfortable working under pressure and independently
- Customer service focus – Friendly, approachable manner when interacting with pupils
- Previous catering/food preparation experience (essential)

Additional Information
This role is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975, requiring applicants to undergo a DBS 'disclosure' check if successful.
