General Catering Assistant — Woodbridge School

Role Location

Woodbridge School Address: Marryott House, Burkitt Road, Woodbridge, Suffolk IP12 4JJ


Key Details

  • Salary: £11,935.18 per annum (£12,760 pro rata)
  • Hours: 24 hours per week (term time only, 34 weeks per year)
  • Contract: Fixed-term to cover maternity leave
  • Start: As soon as possible

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and motivated General Catering Assistant to join our Catering Team at Woodbridge School’s Senior School.

Working within a busy and fast-paced environment, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, ensuring the smooth preparation and delivery of high-quality food to pupils, staff, and visitors.

Reporting to the Chefs, you will assist with a range of general kitchen duties, helping to create an efficient, clean, and welcoming catering environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to high-quality food preparation and service delivery.
  • Assist with general kitchen duties, maintaining cleanliness and order.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ensure excellent service standards for all users of the catering facilities.

While previous catering or customer-facing experience is advantageous, it is not essential—full training will be provided. What matters most is a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn.


Working Hours

  • ** Expected pattern: 4 days a week, 24 hours total**
  • Shifts available:
    • 2 x 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
    • 2 x 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
    • 2 weekend shifts every 4 weeks.
    • 12:30 pm – 6:30 pm (weekday and weekend coverage).
