Casual Catering Assistant

Salary: £13.45 Location: Operations Area 1, Lancaster & Morecambe, Lancashire Contract: Casual

Lancashire County Council provide catering services to over 500 schools across Lancaster, supporting over 60,000 school meals daily. We’re seeking focused individuals to join our catering team, ensuring high-quality, healthy meals are delivered to school children in Lancaster & Morecambe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare dining areas for service, including rearranging furniture and tidying spaces
  • Assist in preparing, cooking, and serving food and beverages
  • Ensuring thorough cleaning of all equipment and catering areas

Requirements

Applicants should demonstrate:

  • Strong ability to work as part of a team
  • Adaptability to work under pressure and use initiative
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Previous catering or food preparation experience is preferred

Working Arrangements

  • Casual hours, available on an as-needed basis.
  • This role operates under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Successful candidates must apply for a DBS disclosure.
