Location: Netherton, Peterhead
Salary: £45000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, daytime operation
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Catering Manager to lead the catering operation at a newly opened infrastructure site in Netherton. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape and develop a brand-new foodservice offering, providing high-quality breakfast and lunch services to site-based teams.
As Catering Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day catering operation, leading an initial team of four colleagues and playing a key role in growing the service as the site develops. You'll ensure a safe, efficient and customer-focused operation while building strong relationships with stakeholders and identifying opportunities to enhance the employee dining experience.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing the daily catering operation, delivering high-quality breakfast and lunch services
- Leading, coaching and developing a team of four colleagues, with responsibility for future recruitment and growth as the operation expands
- Ensuring excellent food quality, presentation and customer service standards at all times
- Building strong relationships with site leadership and key stakeholders, acting as the primary point of contact for catering services
- Managing staffing schedules and labour planning in line with operational requirements
- Monitoring financial performance, including budgets, labour costs, food costs and wastage
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency
- Ensuring full compliance with food safety, health and safety, and company procedures
- Managing stock control, ordering and supplier relationships to ensure consistent service delivery
- Supporting hospitality requirements and occasional site events where required
- Identifying opportunities to increase participation, improve the offer and grow the catering operation as site occupancy increases

What we're looking for
- Proven experience in hospitality, catering, foodservice or contract catering management
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams
- Experience operating within a busy workplace restaurant, business and industry, or contract catering environment
- Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, labour and food costs
- Excellent organisational and planning skills
- Strong customer service and stakeholder management capabilities
- Good understanding of food safety, health and safety and compliance requirements
- Comfortable using catering systems and completing administrative tasks
- A proactive and hands-on management style with the ability to thrive in a start-up environment
- Passion for delivering a high-quality dining experience and building a successful operation from the ground up
