Catering Manager
Lead an Exceptional Catering Operation
We're looking for an experienced Catering Manager who is passionate about delivering exceptional food and outstanding customer service. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious catering professional to lead a successful operation, ensuring consistently high standards while creating an enjoyable dining experience for every customer.
As Catering Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of the catering operation, leading your team to deliver outstanding food, excellent service, strong financial performance and full compliance with company and legislative standards.

About the Role
As Catering Manager, you'll organise and supervise the catering operation in line with Compass Group UK & Ireland standards, client expectations and statutory regulations. You'll take responsibility for delivering a first-class food service while ensuring the efficient use of resources, managing budgets and developing a motivated, engaged team.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop your catering team to deliver exceptional food and customer service.
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the catering service, ensuring all contractual and company standards are achieved.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, presentation and service to agreed specifications.
- Ensure excellent food safety, health & safety and hygiene standards are maintained at all times.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and customers.
- Review customer satisfaction results and implement continuous improvement plans.
- Manage labour, food costs and operating budgets to achieve financial targets.
- Monitor stock levels, purchasing and wastage to maximise efficiency.
- Deliver high-quality hospitality services where required.
- Identify opportunities to enhance the catering offer and improve customer experience.
- Ensure all compliance documentation and audits are completed accurately and on time.
- Promote a positive team culture through coaching, training and regular performance reviews.
- Act as a positive ambassador for Compass Group UK & Ireland.
Who We're Looking For
You'll be a confident leader with a genuine passion for food, service and people.
You'll Have
- Previous Catering Manager experience within contract catering, education, healthcare, B&I or a similar environment.
- Strong people management and leadership skills.
- Excellent knowledge of food safety, health & safety and compliance requirements.
- Experience managing budgets, food costs and labour.
- A passion for delivering excellent customer service.
- Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience delivering hospitality services is desirable.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- A hands-on management style with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- A proactive approach with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
