The Opportunity
As Catering Services Director, you’ll hold ultimate responsibility for the strategic, operational, and commercial success of the food, beverage, and hospitality operation at Ascot Racecourse.
Key focus areas include:
- Oversight of Royal Ascot and other major external events
- Leadership across operations, culinary, finance, HR, planning, and event delivery
- Balancing vision with execution to ensure exceptional guest experiences and outstanding commercial results

Key Responsibilities
Creating World-Class Guest Experiences
- Continuously evolve the Ascot hospitality and F&B proposition
- Drive innovation in premium hospitality, retail, beverage, and fine dining experiences
- Ensure every guest touchpoint exceeds expectations
- Position Ascot as a leader in live events and hospitality
Leading a Complex, High-Profile Business
- Own performance of a multi-million-pound operation
- Deliver financial targets, profitability, and sustainable growth
- Develop and execute strategic business plans
- Identify new commercial opportunities and revenue streams
Inspiring Exceptional Teams
- Lead a senior leadership team and an onsite workforce of ~60 colleagues
- Foster engagement, performance, and succession planning
- Cultivate a high-performance culture
- Lead through visibility, coaching, and influence
Building Influential Partnerships
- Serve as the senior Sodexo Live! representative on-site
- Build trusted relationships with Ascot Racecourse stakeholders
- Collaborate to achieve strategic objectives
- Act as an ambassador for Sodexor Live! and Ascot brands

This role demands a rare blend of:
✔ Senior hospitality leadership experience (high-end venues, stadia, racing, resorts, luxury hotels, or live entertainment) ✔ Proven track record in multi-service hospitality or catering operations ✔ Significant P&L responsibility with a history of commercial success ✔ Expertise in premium F&B environments ✔ Leadership of large, diverse, and high-performing teams ✔ Exceptional stakeholder management and relationship-building skills ✔ Strong financial, strategic, and analytical capabilities ✔ Passion for creating memorable guest experiences ✔ Relentless focus on continuous improvement and innovation
