Job Description
📍 Location: TJX Europe Processing Centre (Old Sarum Road, Bath, BA1 3TX) 🕒 Hours: Full-time (35 hours/week) 💰 Salary: £13.25 per hour
Responsibilities:
Staff Training & Coaching
- Oversee the initiation and onboarding of General Assistants in shifts.
- Ensure all team members are properly trained and competent, using on-the-job training, task books, and formal training programmes.
- Deliver performance-based coaching across a range of operational tasks:
- Till training & cash handling
- Cleaning and hygiene protocols
- Portion control & food prep standards
- Dietary need management
- Menu knowledge & service standards
Staff & Team Management
- Conduct one-to-one (121) conversations to support performance and sound professional debates with managers.
- Provide/seek updates, clarifications, and task progress reviews for managers.
- Assist in placement & rostering confirmation, ensuring alignment with operational needs.

Operational & Service Leadership
- Supervision of daily operations, including serveries, catering kitchens, and retail/coffee shop outlets.
- Ensure compliance with Somerset Larder Food Safety & Quality Management System (and all relevant legal standards).
- Support efficient service planning, including cost constraints, safety, or cross-contamination/allergen controls.
Full Service Delivery
- Oversee timely, high-quality food delivery per agreed standards.
- Support typical procedural improvements, training, or tasks requested by management.
H&S & Compliance
- Maintain strict safety standards under H&S legislation, plus company-specific key performance indicators.
- Contribute towards Zero Harm Culture principles through dedication to a safe workplace.
Operational Support
- Coordinate material orders (including raw ingredients, packaging, cleaning supplies).
- Contribute to internal food safety & quality audits.
Qualifications & Standards
↳ Food Hygiene (Basic Level 2 Safety Standards, SAFECOOK Level 2) required within 30 days of starting work. ↳ Allergen Training & Safe Working Practice (desirable) ↳ CROSS (COSHH Essentials – Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) training (desirable) ↳ Food Safety (Level 3) Accreditation (achieved within 12 months, desirable)
