About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Catering Assistant to support the daily food and service delivery across the school. This role is crucial in ensuring pupils, staff, and visitors receive high-quality, nutritious meals served with care, efficiency, and attention to detail.
You will be joining Holroyd Howe, one of the UK’s leading contract caterers, providing fresh, innovative food services solely to independent schools and colleges. We are a team of experienced professionals who tailor our catering services to meet the bespoke requirements of each school.

This includes effective allergen management achieved through training, communication, and care—ensuring safe mealtimes for every pupil. Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Support the preparation, service, and presentation of food to a high standard
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across kitchen and service areas
- Assist with food labelling, temperature checks, and allergen controls
- Provide excellent customer service to pupils, staff, and visitors
- Set up and clear service areas, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations
- Follow all food safety, health & safety, and safeguarding procedures
- Contribute to hospitality events and occasional out-of-hours functions
- Ensure accountability for following and Championing allergen controls
Candidate Profile: Desired Qualifications & Attributes
- Ideally have experience working in contract or high-volume catering
- Possess strong health and safety knowledge
- Display flexibility, can-do attitude, and exceptional customer focus
- Be fun, energetic, and enthusiastic
- Have strong organisation skills and great attention to detail
- Be a team player who enjoys collaborative success
- Exhibit exceptional customer service skills
- Approach work with flexibility and adaptability
