Job Description – Catering Manager (Term-Time Only, School Role)

For over 20 years, the Company has delivered fresh food solutions to pupils and staff at Primary Schools, Secondary Schools, and Colleges across the UK, serving more than 1,000,000 meals a week. About the Role

We are seeking a Catering Manager (term-time only, no weekends) at Copper Valley Infant School, Gunnislake to ensure nutritionally balanced yet tasty meals are provided to children. This flexible role allows you to focus on education-focused catering without weekend commitments.

Role Details

  • Salary: £13.85 per hour
  • Hours: 25 per week, Monday to Friday
  • Contract: Term-time only (~38 weeks per year)

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and present food to Caterlink and client standards
  • Maintain compliance with health & safety, food safety, and environmental legislation
  • Uphold and enhance our reputation for exceeding client expectations
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including:
    • Staff supervision
    • Inventory management
    • Budget monitoring
    • Implementing continuous improvements
  • Serve as the primary liaison with school leadership, making regular adjustments and implementing enhancements
  • Track KPIs and financial targets in collaboration with a line manager
  • Provide team training, leadership, and performance support to ensure operational excellence
