CCTV Drainage Engineer

Position

  • Job Title: CCTV Drainage Engineer
  • Location: Budds Farm WTW, Havant, Hampshire
  • Contract: Permanent, full-time
  • Hours: Monday to Friday (45 hours)
  • Salary: £30,500 per annum (including basic pay, overtime, on-call allowance, and bonuses)

About the Role

Lanes Group is expanding its Utility Division, underpinning Southern Water’s drainage contract. In this customer-focused position, you’ll partner with a two-person team to diagnose and resolve drainage issues while providing effective, professional solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Travelling to residential sites in a two-person crew within a high-tech work van
  • Surveying and assessing drain networks using advanced CCTV equipment
  • Generating high-quality reports on pipe conditions
  • Completion of all site work
  • Troubleshooting problems efficiently in the field
  • Liaising with Technical Specialists on equipment access and operational challenges
  • Ensuring safe site set-up and compliance
  • Updating VISTEC job notes and documenting photographic records (e.g. access points, inspection chambers)
  • Delivering exemplary customer service
  • Maintaining strict adherence to Health & Safety (H&S) protocols
  • Upholding Lanes Group policies and client commitments
  • Ad-hoc tasks requested by management

About You

Essential Criteria

  • Dedicated to customer-focused service and identifying practical solutions
  • Strong commitment to safety and compliance
  • Ability to work outdoors independently or as part of a team
  • Willingness to adopt flexible working hours and embrace on-call requirements

Desirable (but not essential) Experience

  • Familiarity with OS19X CCTV drainage equipment
  • Drains and wastewater industry qualifications (e.g. NRSWA, Confined Space awareness)
