CCTV Drainage Engineer Nights

Now, we’re seeking a customer-focused CCTV Drainage Engineer Nights to join our Utility Division on our Southern Water contract. This role is critical in ensuring we deliver real solutions to wastewater network and drainage problems for our partners.


Position Details

  • Role: CCTV Drainage Engineer (Nights)
  • Location: Crawley Depot, West Sussex
  • Job Type: Permanent, full-time
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 50-hour nights rotation (flexible hours, weekends, on-call rota)
  • Salary: £42,000 per annum (basic, overtime, on-call allowance, and bonuses included)

About the Role

You’ll work in a two-person crew aboard our state-of-the-art high-tech vans, ensuring consistent quality while supporting our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Survey drainage networks and assess pipe conditions using state-of-the-art CCTV equipment to produce high-quality reports
  • On-site execution: Ensure jobs are attended and completed to Lanes’ exacting standards
  • Troubleshoot issues and co-ordinate with technical specialists on access/equipment problems
  • Maintain health, safety, and compliance adhering to Lanes Group policies
  • Customer service: Provide outstanding field support and resilient communication
  • Update VISTEC job notes and document inspections (photos, setups, chambers, site conditions)
  • Ad-hoc duties: Any reasonable tasks requested by management, as required

The ideal candidate prior experience with OS19X equipment is useful but not mandatory—we train our people thoroughly. An advantage will be existing drainage qualifications (e.g., NRSWA or Confined Spaces training).
