Job Opportunity: CDC IQIPS Accreditation Manager
University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust
We’re looking for a passionate CDC IQIPS Accreditation Manager to drive quality, excellence, and continuous improvement in physiological diagnostics across two organisations.
About the Role
Are you dedicated to ensuring the highest standards in healthcare diagnostics? This role is ideal for a proactive individual who seeks to enhance patient outcomes and organisational efficiency through accredited processes.
As CDC IQIPS Accreditation Manager, you will:
- Lead the IQIPS accreditation process for UHS and HIOWH physiology services, including respiratory and cardiology services.
- Coordinate evidence collection, audits, and governance activities to meet UKAS accreditation standards.
- Develop policies, procedures, and protocols in collaboration with clinical and operational teams.
- Facilitate site visits, ensuring compliance and readiness for inspections.
- Support clinical governance meetings, incident reviews, and patient feedback analysis to drive service improvements.
- Provide training and mentorship to staff involved in accreditation activities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders (internal and external) to address barriers and embed a culture of continuous quality improvement.
This role directly impacts patient care, service reliability, and organisational performance, aligning with our national standards and strategic goals.

You will work closely with an accreditation counterpart in HIOWH (radiology), benefiting from structured support, training, and access to the South East CDC Accreditation Peer Support Group.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the IQIPS accreditation process for Physiology Services across multiple sites (RSH, Solent, Lymington).
- Coordinate accreditation-evidence collection, audits, and governance for UKAS compliance.
- Collaborate with clinical teams, management, and stakeholders to develop and implement high-quality policies.
- Conduct and facilitate site visits to ensure accreditation compliance.
- Support clinical governance meetings and patient feedback analysis.
- Train and mentor staff in accreditation procedures.
- Adress barriers through stakeholder collaboration to drive continuous quality improvement.

What We’re Looking For
Qualifications (Essential)
- A BSc/MSc or equivalent degree.
- Completion of a management qualification/experience.
Desirable Qualifications
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- IQIPS assessor training.
- Evidence of continuing professional development, reflective of the IQIPS lead role.
Experience (Essential)
- In-depth knowledge of IQIPS standards (V2.1, 2023).
- Full understanding of IQIPS accreditation requirements.
- High-level expertise in clinical physiologist tests and techniques.
- Previous experience creating SOPs and departmental protocols.
- Service improvement experience and clinical audit expertise.
Desirable Experience
- Ability to coach teams on quality improvement tools for IQIPS.
- Experience working with internal/external departments to facilitate evidence collection.
