CDM & SHE Specialist (Scotland & North region)
£55,500 to £65,500 + up to 6% bonus + company car*
*Company car is subject to business mileage. Full details will be shared later in the process.
Scotland & North region (Hubs: Aberdeen & Livingston)
Working pattern: Hybrid (on-site minimum 3 days a week)
Travel: Regular (within region inc. central hubs in Aberdeen & Livingston)
Location requirement: Based within the Scotland & North region and within a reasonable travelling distance of operational sites
Some flexibility for home working may be available, where appropriate.

About the role
Help ensure critical energy infrastructure is delivered safely.
As a CDM & SHE Specialist, you'll provide expert CDM and health and safety support across construction projects, helping teams manage risk, meet regulatory requirements and maintain the highest safety standards.

What you'll be doing
- Provide CDM and health and safety advice across construction projects
- Review Construction Phase Plans, risk assessments and method statements
- Monitor compliance with safety legislation, standards and procedures
- Carry out audits, inspections and assurance activities
- Support incident reporting and investigations
- Monitor safety performance and identify improvements
- Promote a positive and proactive safety culture
- Work closely with project teams, contractors and stakeholders

About you
You'll be an experienced health and safety professional with a strong understanding of construction and infrastructure environments. You'll be confident influencing others, challenging where necessary and building effective working relationships.

Key requirements & experience
Essential
- Experience in a health and safety advisory role within utilities, construction or infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 and UK health and safety legislation
- Experience of high-risk construction activities, including excavation, confined spaces and live assets
- Ability to review risk assessments, method statements and contractor documentation
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent)
- IOSH membership (Tech IOSH or above)
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Experience within the gas sector
- Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related subject
- NEBOSH General Certificate
- IOSH Managing Safely
- Additional training in auditing, incident investigation or behavioural safety
- Security clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
