Cement Junior Laboratory Technician

Role type: Full-time, permanent

Location: In person - Cambridge, UK

About the Role

Reclinker is an early-stage deep-tech start-up, founded in 2022 to commercialise a world-first process for producing low-carbon, recycled cement using electric arc furnaces (EAFs) — the same technology used in steel recycling. Spun out of the University of Cambridge, we are on a mission to decarbonise one of the world's most carbon-intensive industries.

We are looking for people who are committed to - and consistently demonstrate - our company values of:

  • Intellectually curious: Keen to learn and try something new.
  • Open and humble: Open to new ideas, without ego.
  • Collaborative: Ask for help and support each other.
  • Data-driven: Query, find and follow the numbers.
  • Have a sense of fun: Enjoy each other's company and our journey together.
  • Autonomous: Self-motivated, manage ambiguity and take the initiative.

We are looking for a Junior Laboratory Technician to join our growing team. You will play a hands-on role in supporting our R&D and operations teams, helping us test, analyse, and develop the materials at the heart of our technology. No prior specialist experience is required — we will invest in your development. What matters most is a practical mindset, a genuine willingness to learn, and a strong personal commitment to safety.

About You

You’re a practical, detail-oriented laboratory professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced innovation and laboratory setting, taking ownership of the tasks that keep a lab running at its best. You’re confident handling routine maintenance, while remaining curious and capable enough to contribute to experimental and analytical work when the opportunity arises. You work autonomously and proactively, taking accountability for your tasks and seeing them through to completion.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
