Type: Permanent Full Time - 40 hours

  • Woodford Green Library and Gym - Snakes Lane, Woodford Green, IG8 0DX

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Centre Manager to lead the successful operation of South Woodford & Woodford Green Library and Gym. This is an exciting opportunity to manage a thriving community facility that brings together library, leisure and fitness services, making a positive impact on the lives of local residents every day.

As Centre Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management, performance and development of the Centre, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, customer-focused and cost-effective services. You will lead and inspire a team of Senior Library Assistants, Leisure Staff and an Assistant Centre Manager, creating a positive and supportive culture where colleagues can thrive and deliver excellent service.

Key Tasks:

  • Lead the day-to-day management and development of South Woodford & Woodford Green Library and Gym, ensuring high-quality, customer-focused services.
  • Manage budgets, control expenditure and identify opportunities to increase income and centre usage.
  • Lead, motivate and develop a team of Senior Library Assistants, Leisure Staff and an Assistant Centre Manager.
  • Coordinate staffing resources, oversee Duty Manager rotas and support the smooth operation of the Centre.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, hirers and community partners.
  • Monitor performance, drive continuous improvement and maintain high standards of customer service.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, operational procedures and Quest quality standards.
  • Support the development of activities and programmes that enhance the customer experience.

Preferred Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years experience of working within the leisure industry.
  • First Aid at Work Certificate.
  • Experience of managing staff.
