Summary
RRMC is recruiting full scope Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join Rutland Woman’s Healthcare. This CNM would be joining a thriving OB/GYN practice in Vermont, becoming an integral part of our dynamic collaborative care team. Our provider team is comprised of four OB/GYN Physicians and a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. We are looking for a CNM who is passionate about providing exceptional patient centered, evidence-based care while supporting normal physiological changes one can experience across a reproductive lifespan.
This outpatient, hospital-owned practice is adjacent to the main hospital campus and an office on same floor as labor and delivery unit for use when on call. The hospital team is comprised of highly autonomous nursing team, respiratory therapists and pediatricians. The team facilitates roughly 300 births each year.

This position includes first call for OB and Gyn patients, usually 24 hr shifts, one day a week and one weekend a month.
The Certified Nurse Midwife provides medical care and treatment to gynecological and obstetrical patients in collaboration with the physicians in the department of obstetrics/gynecologist across a woman's lifespan and throughout prenatal, delivery and postpartum periods.
Minimum Education
- Either Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)/ Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) with Midwifery focus
Or
- Successful completion of an accredited graduate level Midwifery program.
Required Licenses/Certifications

- Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Licensed RN in the State of Vermont.
- BLS Certification through the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ultrasound assessment and interpretation
- Experience with GYN procedures IUD/Nexplanon/I&Ds/Colposcopy
- Experience as 1st assist at c-sections
- Experience in both outpatient and hospital-based settings
- Familiarity with quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Required Skills, Knowledge And Abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required to deal with patients from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
- Basic Microsoft desktop application and navigation skills.
