Marks Sattin Executive Search Opportunity

Marks Sattin Executive Search is working with a PE-backed buy-and-build B2B Services business in the search for an experienced CFO to lead the finance function through an ambitious acquisition and value creation journey. With a clearly defined investment strategy and a number of acquisitions already in the pipeline, this is a unique opportunity to join at the outset of a transformative buy-and-build programme.

Role Overview

Working closely with the investors, and wider leadership team, the CFO will play a central role in executing the group's acquisition strategy, supporting transactions from evaluation and due diligence through to integration and ongoing performance improvement. The successful candidate will ensure the finance function evolves alongside the business, establishing the reporting, controls, and governance required to support a rapidly expanding, multi-site business. The CFO will provide strategic financial leadership across the group, overseeing financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, cash management, and group reporting. Acting as a trusted adviser, they will deliver commercial insight to support strategic decision-making, whilst maintaining strong relationships with lenders, advisers, and other key stakeholders.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

As the platform continues to grow through acquisition, the CFO will work closely with finance and operational teams across the business to integrate newly acquired companies, improve financial visibility, drive operational performance, and build a scalable finance function capable of supporting continued expansion. With a future exit central to the investment strategy, the CFO will play a pivotal role in preparing the business for a successful transaction. Working alongside the executive leadership team and investors, they will help enhance reporting, strengthen financial controls, support transaction readiness, and maximise value throughout the investment lifecycle.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, ACMA or equivalent).
  • Proven CFO or Finance Director experience within a PE-Backed within business services, industrial services, support services, facilities management, engineering, logistics, manufacturing, construction, infrastructure services, or other operationally intensive, contract-led businesses.
  • Demonstrable experience supporting a buy-and-build strategy, including acquisitions, integration, and value creation.
  • A proven track record of successfully navigating a private equity exit, working closely with investors, advisers, and executive leadership teams to deliver a value-maximising transaction.
  • Strong understanding of contract-based or recurring revenue business models.
  • Strategic and commercially minded, with the ability to operate at both board and operational levels.
  • Proven ability to build, develop, and lead high-performing finance teams across a multi-site environment.
  • Comfortable operating within a highly acquisitive, fast-paced business, spending time across multiple operating companies and working closely with leadership teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the credibility to influence investors, lenders, boards, and senior management.
