About the Organisation
England Athletics is the national governing body for grassroots athletics and running in England. Supporting:
- Over 181,000 registered athletes
- Approximately 1,850 clubs
- A wider community of millions of runners
We partner with our official charity, the Personal Best Foundation, to create opportunities for children and young people at risk of exclusion to engage in the sport.

Key responsibilities include collaboration with:
- UK Athletics
- Other Home Country Athletics Foundations
- Competition providers
- Key stakeholders such as Sport England and London Marathon Events
- Licensing and insuring over 3,000 off-track and multi-terrain events
- Playing a role in the Commonwealth Games through partnerships with Commonwealth Games England
About the Role
We are seeking a Chair of the Board to provide:
- Strategic leadership
- Strong governance
- Inclusive oversight in growing participation, modernizing the sport, and ensuring accessibility for all.
