Change and Release Analyst

Company: Boeing Defence United Kingdom Limited

Position Overview

The Change and Release Analyst is responsible for executing day-to-day change and release management activities within the ITIL framework, supporting the Change Enablement Lead Analyst and Team. This role ensures that change requests are processed accurately and efficiently, contributing to the smooth implementation of changes with minimal disruption to IT services, as well as supporting release deployments.

Position Responsibilities

  • Change Request Processing

    • Log, categorize, and prioritize change requests in accordance with ITIL change management processes.
    • Assist in the assessment of change requests by gathering necessary information and coordinating with relevant stakeholders.
    • Ensure all change documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with organizational standards.
    • Work closely with requestors to ensure changes are progressed and delivered within planned timescales.
  • Change & Release Coordination and Communication

    • Coordinate change schedules, and communicate change details to impacted teams and stakeholders.
    • Maintain a Forward Schedule of Change to ensure you can effectively manage potential clashes in advance.
    • Support the preparation of materials for Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings, including agendas and change records.
    • Chair weekly Change Advisory Boards (and Ad-Hoc Emergency Boards).
    • Track change progress and update status in ITSM tools, escalating issues or delays to the Lead Analyst as needed.
  • Data Management and Reporting

    • Maintain accurate records of change activities, approvals, and outcomes within the ITSM system.
    • Support process performance monitoring and continuous improvement.

  • Stakeholder Support

    • Respond to queries from IT teams and business users regarding change processes and schedules.
    • Assist in identifying and documenting risks or resistance related to changes and escalate concerns appropriately.
    • Work with the Release and Environments teams to ensure closely coordinated delivery of Changes.
  • Process Adherence and Improvement

    • Follow established change management policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance.
    • Contribute suggestions for process improvements and assist in updating change management documentation.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

  • Experience or exposure to ITIL-based change management processes is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

  • Proficient in ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow) and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities.
  • Customer-focused with a commitment to supporting effective change delivery.
  • Team player with a willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
