About the role

Our Change and Transformation is key to enabling the business achieve its strategic goals. We are looking for a Change Delivery Manager to lead significant and high priority outcomes both directly and through others.

What you’ll do

As a Change Delivery Manager you will use your experience to lead business wide change which will include:

  • Bringing cross functional resources together to tackle a wide range of business problems
  • Providing clear communication and coordination between delivery teams and wider business stakeholders
  • Adapting your methodology and style to suit different scenarios
  • Challenging and stress testing plans, scope and delivery approaches
  • Dealing with ambiguity and navigating when processes are not clearly defined or understood
  • Identifying ways to improve overall efficiency and ways of working of delivery teams

As a Change Delivery Manager, you will adapt your leadership or coaching style to the individual or group you are leading and/or influencing.

A proven leader with a wealth of experience in delivering outcomes, that requires cross-functional working and responsibility. Your excellent communication and influencing skills will ensure that you engage with teams and wider stakeholders to embed ways of working and be a pro-active part of creating a culture of transparency across all aspects of change delivery.

You will utilise appropriate delivery approaches and techniques to drive and deliver end-to-end delivery. You will ensure the successful implementation and review of change in a dynamic and well governed manner. You take a consistent and ongoing approach to planning, forecasting, managing uncertainty, metrics and measurements, contingency planning and delivery. You can communicate plans, planning assumptions and progress to a range of stakeholders. You can manage risks, issues and dependencies at a team level as well as governance and status reporting. You can maintain the cadence of delivery and manage the relationships between different people within and across teams. You can use judgement to escalate when appropriate.

You can build successful cross functional delivery teams. You can understand team styles and how people work together. You can maintain, influence and motivate a team. You can give and receive constructive feedback, enabling a strong feedback loop. You can ensure the health of a team and support conflict resolution, improving team performance. You can ensure that the team works in a transparent way and that the work is understood externally. You can create an open and collaborative working environment. You will drive a strong culture of continuous improvement and innovation across teams. You are outcome driven. You challenge the status quo, take note of what’s not working and strive to break down barriers and change approach where it impacts the pace of the teams. You can influence and make positive changes to the team. You seek a firm understanding of how Capital One, as a business, functions and the business context surrounding decisions and changes. You can demonstrate flexibility, adaptability and a willingness to learn and also seek to teach and coach others through our change community. You can recognise how people work together, creating the best team makeup depending on the situation. You can help teams maintain a focus on delivery while being aware of the importance of personal development to sustained effectiveness.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience of delivering change in a fast paced environment, utilising a variety of delivery methodologies including Agile and MSP
  • Excellent problem solving & analytical skills, providing structured thinking and understanding to problems, transforming them into actionable work for teams, coupled with an unwavering desire to deliver for our customers and business
  • Proven experience of managing cross team dependencies, risks and issues
  • You are confident in leading through ambiguity, in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Strong relationship building and collaboration skills to steer and guide teams and stakeholders up to Director/Sponsor level.
  • A credible track record of improving the effectiveness of delivery
  • Proven experience of managing cross team governance and reporting
  • Comfortable working in a complex regulated environment (experience is desirable)
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills allowing you to engage with teams and wider stakeholders and create a culture of transparency across all aspects of delivery.
  • A high level of emotional intelligence allowing you to read a room
  • A passion for leading and coaching other delivery resources to support growth of wider team

Where and how you'll work

This is a permanent position based in our Nottingham office. We have a hybrid working model which gives you flexibility to work from our offices and from home.

We’re big on collaboration and connection, so you’ll be based in our offices 3 days a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Many of our associates have flexible working arrangements, and we're open to talking about an arrangement that works for you.
