Change Lead, M&A People Team
Role: Change Lead, M&A People Team
Purpose
We're looking for an experienced Change Lead within the M&A People Team to drive successful integration of acquisitions for our rapidly expanding business. As a leading, private equity-backed insurance broker, organic growth and strategic acquisitions are central to our strategy.
This role will focus on the people aspects of mergers and acquisitions—centring colleagues, leadership, and culture throughout every integration journey. Responsibilities include partnering with deal teams, leading consultation, cultural alignment, and ensuring smooth transitions.
This isn’t merely a delivery role; you’ll need the experience, credibility, and influence to:
- Challenge senior leaders constructively
- Build trust with acquired businesses and their leadership teams
- Guide integrations with a sharp focus on people, culture, and long-term success
Responsibilities
- Strategic Partnering: Collaborate with acquisition & integration teams from deal inception through to business-as-usual transition.
- Risk & Impact Assessment: Analyse people risks, organisational impacts, and cultural considerations in due diligence and planning.
- ** integration Planning**: Develop practical, scalable transition strategies pre- and post-completion.
- Employee Consultation: Lead legally compliant engagement processes in partnership with People & Legal teams.
- Culture Integration: Uphold acquired business strengths while embedding our values, culture, and ways of working.
- Retention & Readiness Tracking: Monitor engagement, integration health, and recommend targeted interventions.
- Beriefing & Strategic Guidance: Provide insights on people-related risks/opportunities to senior stakeholders.
- Reporting & Accountability: Present progress, readiness, and integration outcomes to governance forums.

Skills & Experience
We seek someone blending robust change management with exceptional relationship-building:
- Experience: Leading complex organisational transformations, acquisitions, and large-scale integrations.
- Legal & Compliance: Strong knowledge of TUPE, consultation processes, and employee relations.
- Leadership Influence: Proven ability to challenge senior stakeholders constructively and drive alignment.
- Strategy Execution: Designing engagement/communications strategies and balancing pace, risk, and commercial priorities.
- Bonus: Experience in the insurance industry is preferable but not essential.
