Role Profile

After a period of sustained growth and continued investment in our Change & Transformation capability, Osborne Clarke are looking to further strengthen their team with the appointment of a Change Manager, based in Bristol or London office.

This role will be central to designing and delivering the change management activities that successfully embed people, process, and technology change across a range of programmes and projects, supporting the firm’s strategic priorities.

The role offers a permanent position with hybrid working, part-time or flexible arrangements considered where possible. Occasional international travel may be required.


The Role

The Change Manager will be a key member of our Change & Transformation team, collaborating with colleagues across Portfolio Management, Business Analysis and Programme & Project Management to ensure change is understood and successfully adopted.

They will design and implement structured change management approaches that:

  • Drive faster adoption
  • Minimise disruption
  • Maximise benefits realisation across the firm

Key Responsibilities

Change Strategy & Design

  • Conduct and utilise change impact assessments to shape effective change strategies for smooth transitions.
  • Design structured change management plans that integrate people, process, and technology across project lifecycles.
  • Define and track measures of success (including behavioural and process changes) to demonstrate impact.
  • Identify and mitigate risks within change approaches, addressing barriers to adoption and engagement.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communications

  • Plan and deliver stakeholder engagement approaches to build understanding, commitment, and advocacy for change outcomes.
  • Develop clear, tailored communications that respond to stakeholder needs and provide constructive challenge when needed.
  • Facilitate workshops, briefings, and discussions that encourage participation, diverse perspectives, and consensus without relying on formal authority.
  • Support partners, leaders, and change sponsors in effectively communicating change and role-modelling desired behaviours.

Benefits, Readiness & Adoption

  • Collaborate with Project & Programme Managers and Business Analysts to align change activities with business outcomes.
  • Assess change readiness across impacted groups and recommend targeted interventions for increased adoption.
  • Define and use feedback mechanisms and metrics to track transition progress and embed continuous improvement.
  • Support efforts to improve processes, operational performance, and client/user experience through change initiatives.

Portfolio Integration & Ways of Working

  • Support portfolio-level integration by understanding interdependencies, change capacity, and sequencing to avoid saturation and maximise value.
  • Collaborate with Change & Transformation colleagues to align approaches, share insights, and maintain consistent standards.
  • Utilise tools, technology, and AI for generating insights, improving efficiency, and aiding decision-making.
  • Contribute to the refinement of change methodologies, templates, and tools across Osborne Clarke.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and engagement skills (written, verbal, and presentation).
  • Strong facilitation and influencing abilities, enabling participation, diverse perspectives, and consensus-building without formal authority.
  • Analytical and strategic thinking with the capacity to clarify complex issues and link change activities to firm objectives.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills, including engaging diverse stakeholders, managing expectations, and maintaining commitment.
  • Demonstrable change management expertise, with a strong understanding of its role in the end-to-end project lifecycle and broader business strategy.
  • Commercial and business acumen to appreciate how the firm operates, creates value, and shapes effective change decisions.
  • High emotional intelligence, strong interpersonal skills, self-awareness, and empathy to build collaborative, trusting relationships.
  • Resilience and adaptability to maintain performance under pressure, adjusting approaches as priorities and feedback evolve.
  • Highly organised, with strong time management, project planning, and teamworking skills to balance competing demands and meet deadlines.
  • Awareness of technology and AI, with curiosity about tools and their relevant applications in change management.
  • Experience supporting and coordinating communication, engagement, and training efforts within change strategies, including documenting requirements and designing effective interventions.
