Charge Nurse - Supported Discharge Unit
Due to staff development and growth, the opportunity has arisen within the Supported Discharge Unit to recruit a Band 6, Charge Nurse who will be influential in providing direction and leadership support within the Operational Division of NHS Fife.
The Supported Discharge Unit supports and prepares our patients for a safe Discharge. We are looking for a Charge Nurse who has exceptional additional skills who can support our team in delivering patient centered care. Additionally, the applicant should have transferrable experience of leading and developing change within their support post.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Senior Charge Nurse in the ward.
- Provide Charge Nurse cover for the Nursing Pool, Discharge Lounge, and Ward 9, an additional Supported Discharge Unit.
- Work closely with colleagues in the Discharge HUB and Social Work Department to identify patients' discharge pathways, set planned date of discharge (PDD), and liaise with our MDT colleagues.
- Lead and support MDT meetings to sustain site capacity and flow.
Required Skills and Experience
- Post-registration experience.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrable skills in management and leadership.
- Successful change management in achieving high standards of care is desirable.
