About NHS Scotland

NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

About the Role

Psychiatry of Old Age Services are looking for an organised individual with a desire to lead and who is keen to be part of developing an innovative and forward-looking service. You will need to be passionate about the care of the older adult with mental health needs, hold excellent communication skills, and be able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide person-centred nursing.

Responsibilities

As a Charge Nurse, you will exhibit strong leadership and management skills and will influence and develop practice. You will support the Senior Charge Nurse and the nursing team in developing QI work in a Psychiatry of Old Age inpatient setting. Within the Charge Nurse role, you will be responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day work of the nursing team.

Requirements

If you have these skills, display strengths based on effective leadership, can lead and manage change, and are committed to improving the patient, carer, and relative experience for those accessing older people's services, we want to hear from you.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
