Senior Chartered Building Surveyor
Location: Reading (Hybrid)
Salary: Up to £80,000 + Excellent Benefits
The Opportunity
We are working exclusively with a highly respected client-side property organisation to recruit a Senior Chartered Building Surveyor. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established business with a substantial commercial and industrial property portfolio, offering genuine autonomy, long-term career progression, and the chance to make a tangible impact across a diverse estate.
This role would suit an ambitious MRICS Building Surveyor looking to move client-side or an existing client-side surveyor seeking a new challenge within a forward-thinking organisation.
The Role
Reporting into the Head of Property, you will take ownership of a varied portfolio of commercial and industrial assets, providing professional building surveying expertise across the estate.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing planned preventative maintenance programmes.
- Delivering refurbishment, fit-out, and capital improvement projects.
- Undertaking building inspections and preparing detailed technical reports.
- Managing contract administration from inception through to completion.
- Preparing specifications, schedules of work, and tender documentation.
- Advising on building defects and recommending appropriate remedial solutions.
- Supporting acquisitions, disposals, and due diligence surveys.
- Managing external consultants, contractors, and project teams.
- Ensuring statutory compliance across the portfolio.
- Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.

About You
To be considered, you will ideally have:
- MRICS qualified (Building Surveying).
- Strong experience within commercial and industrial property.
- Excellent technical building surveying knowledge.
- Experience delivering projects from concept through to completion.
- Knowledge of landlord and tenant matters would be advantageous.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Commercial awareness with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
- Full UK driving licence.
