You'll deliver a broad range of professional building surveying services while playing an important role in the consultancy's expanding cladding and fire safety offering.
This is a role for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, building lasting client relationships, and delivering practical, commercially focused advice.
Key Responsibilities
As a Chartered Building Surveyor, you'll:
- Manage a diverse range of building surveying instructions from initial appointment through to completion.
- Carry out condition surveys, defect diagnosis and building pathology investigations.
- Act as Contract Administrator on refurbishment, repair and fit-out projects.
- Deliver cladding assessments, fire safety surveys and remediation advice.
- Provide guidance on Building Regulations, statutory compliance and fire safety requirements.
- Produce high-quality technical reports, specifications, schedules of condition and dilapidations documentation.
- Undertake technical due diligence and pre-acquisition surveys.
- Support and mentor Assistant and Graduate Surveyors as they develop their careers.
- Build strong client relationships and contribute to the continued growth of the business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
