This is either a part-time or full-time position based in Harrogate with some ability to work from home. The role involves promotion of land, drafting and managing planning applications and appeals for a wide variety of development projects. You will assess sites, undertake policy and constraints research, and prepare planning statements and reports, and undertake site visits, meetings with clients, attend public consultation events, and speak at planning committee. The role could also include drafting neighbourhood plans and monitoring policy changes.

Qualifications
- Professional town planning expertise, including experience preparing planning applications, appeals, and supporting documentation.
- Strong knowledge of UK planning legislation, national and local planning policy, and development management processes.
- Excellent analytical, research, and report-writing skills, with the ability to interpret complex planning information clearly.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including experience working with clients, local authorities, and community groups.
- Good organisational and project management abilities, with proven capability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Relevant academic background and MRTPI membership.
- Proficiency with common office and planning-related software, including mapping tools and document management systems.
- Experience in a consultancy or local authority planning environment and a strong interest in delivering commercially aware planning solutions.
