Expleo is seeking a Chassis Dynamometer Test Engineer to support a leading automotive customer at the Advanced Propulsion Research Laboratory (APRL), based at the University of Warwick. This exciting opportunity offers hands-on involvement in the operation of a state-of-the-art Environmental Chassis Emissions Dynamometer facility, supporting a wide range of vehicle emissions, efficiency, and propulsion development programmes. Working within a collaborative team environment, you will engage directly with OEM engineers, academic partners, and third-party customers to deliver high-quality vehicle testing across conventional, hybrid, and electrified powertrains.
The successful candidate will take ownership of chassis dyno test activities from vehicle preparation and installation through to test execution, data quality verification, and post-test support, ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately, and to the highest engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute end-to-end chassis dynamometer testing activities in accordance with established laboratory procedures and customer requirements.
- Carry out vehicle inspection, check-in, preparation, and check-out activities to ensure vehicle readiness for testing.
- Verify vehicle condition, including fuel levels, tyre pressures, fluid levels, system status, and calibration readiness.
- Prepare and install vehicles onto the chassis dynamometer, ensuring correct vehicle positioning, wheel alignment, strapping, and roller engagement.
- Configure and validate instrumentation, sensors, thermocouples, emissions measurement equipment, and data acquisition systems prior to test execution.
- Conduct dynamometer test cycles in line with defined test schedules and drive cycle requirements.
- Monitor test conditions and support initial data quality assessments during and after testing.
- Maintain compliance with health, safety, environmental, and laboratory operating procedures.
- Support troubleshooting activities relating to test setups, instrumentation, and facility systems.
- Perform post-test activities, including vehicle de-instrumentation, removal from the dyno, and preparation of the facility for future testing.
- Collaborate with facility engineers and service providers to maintain operational readiness of the laboratory.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
