Job Brief: Checkout Supervisor - Depot: Greater Manchester - Reporting to: General Manager

Who we are:

United Wholesale Grocers Limited was founded in 1977 by Mr. Mohammed Ramzan. The company has over 200 employees with a turnover in excess of £220 million. We have 3 have branches, 2 in Glasgow and 1 at Gateshead in the North East of England and we are about to open a new branch in the Greater Manchester area. We are primarily a Cash & Carry Wholesale business with a wide product portfolio consisting of Beers, Wines, Spirits, Soft Drinks, Confectionary, Crisps and Snacks, Household and Grocery.

Responsibilities:

· Supervising the checkout area and the team members

· Organising weekly shift rotas

· Working on the checkout to process customers transactions

· Answering and dealing with customer queries

· Preparing customer orders for delivery

· Taking responsibility for the area you are supervising: This includes ensuring good housekeeping standards are maintained

· Supporting other departments as required

Skills Required:

Confidence using computerised tills and barcode scanners

Excellent work ethic is required, as well as punctuality and reliability

Great with customers and aware of their needs, while being polite and friendly at all times

Initiative and the capability to work both independently and as part of a team to guide them

Good time management as you will be working at speed

Good attention to detail and careful precision to meet targets

Able to work in a high-volume, sometimes physically challenging role

Able to work quickly and to deadlines

Confident working alongside the depot management team

Experienced in the use of MS Word, and Excel are preferred
