Chef – Luxury Care Home (Walton-on-Thames, Surrey)
About the Role
A fantastic new job opportunity has opened for a talented Chef to join an exceptional care home in the Walton-on-Thames, Surrey area, working for one of the UK’s leading healthcare providers.
This boutique luxury home is a purpose-built, modern facility, offering residential and nursing care, along with a therapy and exercise room, and a stunning octagonal glass public café.
Key Requirements
To be considered, you must hold an:
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Food Preparing and Catering
Key Duties
As a Chef, your main responsibilities include:
- Undertake menu planning in consultation with residents and the Manager
- Oversee and participate in the preparation, cooking, and serving of all food
- Ensuring agreed menus are followed
- Displaying daily menus with clear choice listings
- Cater for individuals on special diets and cultural requirements
- Check stock, order supplies in line with catering manuals
- Supervise the kitchen employee team
- Follow HACCPs processes and record compliance as required
- Maintain food expenditure within budget (in consultation with the Bursar and/or Home Manager)

Preferred Skills & Experience
The following would be advantageous:
- Proven experience as a Chef, ideally in healthcare or hospitality
- Strong cooking skills and knowledge of various technical cooking methods
- In-depth nutrition expertise with the ability to create decision-supportive menus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage time efficiently and perform under pressure
- Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Experience in training and supervising kitchen staff
