We’re looking for an outstanding Chef passionate about food and ready to make a difference—join our team at The Daley Care Centre.


About the Role

You’ll work 40 hours per week at The Daley Care Centre, delivering exceptional care and nutrition to individuals with significant needs.

The Daley Care Centre is a specialist Neurological Complex Care service in Sheffield, supporting people with:

  • High nursing needs
  • Acquired Brain Injury (ABI)
  • Complex neurological conditions

Our team of registered nurses, support workers, and in-house therapists work collaboratively to provide comprehensive care—with measurable positive outcomes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and serve nutritional, balanced, and appetising meals for patients, staff, and visitors
  • Collaborate with nursing colleagues to meet patients' dietary and nutritional needs
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen, service areas, and dining room
  • Supervise kitchen staff when acting as deputy to the Head Chef
  • Uphold Cygnet’s hygiene standards and comply with UK food safety regulations
  • Safely handle, maintain, and store kitchen equipment in line with procedures
  • Adhere to COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations

Key AttributesRequirements
Essential ExperienceA skilled chef, preferably with care sector experience
CertificationValid basic food hygiene qualification + strong personal hygiene emphasis
Behaviour & AttitudePolite, professional, and consistently supportive to patients & visitors
Communication SkillsExceptional ability to liaise at all levels in a care environment
Working StyleSelf-starting, teamplayer, and capable of working under supervision
