The Role
Job Title: Chef
Area Supporting: Short term cover at Vale of York Academy, then supporting the York area
Working Days: Monday to Friday
Shifts & Working hours: 8am - 2pm (30 hours per week)
Working Weeks: 37 weeks per year (term time, inset days)
Pay Details: 16297.50 per year

This is a mobile position and will require a full valid UK driving license.
Duties Include:
- Cooking from our amazing menu from scratch
- Maintaining a high level of food safety and hygiene compliance
- Assisting the onsite Chef Manager with the preparation of the main meals and snacks for the site
- Working using fresh seasonal ingredients cooking for a volume of (200+)
- May include some counter service / till work
- Keeping the kitchen and restaurant areas in a clean and tidy state at all times.

- Technical Cooking Skills
- Ability to work in challenging environments, while maintaining high standards
- Organisational skills
- Food hygiene and food preparation qualifications
Your Background
You will be an experienced Chef, used to cooking using fresh seasonal ingredients at volume, managing your kitchen and liaising directly with onsite clients. We’re open to people from all industry backgrounds, in fact, we pride ourselves on having restaurant-quality chefs in our secondary schools.
We’re not in the business of making school food, we’re here to make good food, after all, that’s why our clients and customers love us!
