Location: ITC Vimy Warrant Officers & Sergeants Mess, Catterick Garrison, DL9 3LS

Pay: £13.05 per hour (£23,832.30 per year)

Contract type: Permanent, full-time, 35 hours/week, 5 days over 7

Shift times: 0600 – 1330 and 1130 - 1900

What you’ll do:

No two days look the same, but you can expect to:

  • Prepare and cook meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner – plus fine dining for special events.
  • Work as part of a talented team and mentor new colleagues.
  • Manage stock, placing orders, and keeping kitchen records up to date.
  • Follow recipes, portion control, and presentation guidelines.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene.
  • Support with kitchen deep cleans and due diligence paperwork.

What we’re looking for:

You’ll shine in this role if you have:

  • Strong knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
  • Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards (e.g. HACCP).
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively.
  • Attention to detail and pride in food presentation.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience with high volume bulk catering desirable.
  • Ability to pass security vetting and DBS checks (UK residency for the past 3 years required).
