Head Chef – Care Home Kitchen (HC-One)

About The Role

At «HC-One», kindness is at the heart of everything we do. We are seeking a dedicated Chef to bring their culinary skills and passion into our care home kitchen. You will play a vital role in preparing and serving wholesome, homemade meals that meet nutritional needs while providing comfort and enjoyment to our Residents every day.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for planning, preparing, and serving meals that are nutritious, palatable, and aligned with dietary requirements
  • Ensuring adherence to Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) standards and maintaining high food safety practices
  • Developing creative, varied menu plans that reflect seasonal ingredients and resident preferences
  • Leading a positive, collaborative team culture that prioritises kindness, care, and efficiency
  • Training and supporting kitchen staff in best practices and compliance
  • Contributing to the overall safeguarding culture within the team, including awareness and reporting concerns

Requirements

  • Qualified in cooking, holding either:
    • A Level 2 qualification in Catering & Hospitality (S/NVQ2 in Professional Cookery), or
    • A Professional Cookery qualification
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate, with knowledge of HACCP principles
  • Proven experience in care home or institutional catering
  • Excellent time management, organisation, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong commitment to safeguarding vulnerable individuals and responsibility to follow reporting procedures
  • Ability to work flexibly, collaboratively, and adapt to a fast-paced environment
  • Open solicitude towards digital learning and accessibility for career growth
