Part-Time Chef Vacancy (30 Hours per Week) – Medirest (Compass Group UK&I)

As a market-leading food service company in the UK, we’re searching for an ambitious Chef to work part-time (30 hours/week) helping us create exceptional food experiences for Healthcare.

Our passionate culinary professionals not only prepare outstanding nutritious, delicious food, but they also play a vital role in enhancing the experience of clients, patients, and visitors.

As part of Compass Group UK&I, Medirest is a leading healthcare food service provider, supplying catering services to 130+ NHS trusts and private hospitals across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

This role involves a mix of practical and operational duties, including:

  • Preparing delicious, high-quality meals, ensuring every dish is well-made and professional
  • Implementing and overseeing refreshes to menus, ensuring meals remain appealing and adaptable for clients’ needs
  • Improving service quality by gathering and acting on customer feedback
  • Attending to developing new menu concepts and creative culinary ideas
  • Managing stocks and inventories to prevent shortages whilst maintaining optimal freshness
  • Ensuring ** hygiene standards** to compliance with Food Handling, Hygiene, Health and Safety regulations
  • Supporting team efficiency and positive working culture
  • Upholding brand integrity and professional representation of Medirest

Requirements

To apply, you’ll need:

  • A passionate drive for exceptional food quality and customer satisfaction
  • Professional culinary qualifications, including:
    • City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ L2 equivalent
    • A valid Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Experience supervising a team in a comparable kitchen role
  • experience working as a Chef, adhering to health and safety standards
  • Strong ability to be adaptable and flexible with working hours
