Position Overview
Role: Chef Location: Lyle House Care Home, Roehampton, London (SW15) Hours: 40 hours per week, including weekend work on rota
Lyle House Care Home in Roehampton provides specialist residential and dementia care across four floors of luxury facilities. Led by dedicated staff, we foster a comforting routine, ensuring residents feel safe, secure, and cared for.

The Chef Role
As a Chef at Lyle House, you’ll play a critical role in enhancing the lives of our residents through exceptional food and nutrition. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing high-quality meals tailored to residents' needs, emphasizing nutritional value and enjoyment.
- Supporting the Chef Manager in managing the catering team, ensuring optimal workflow.
- Promoting and maintaining food hygiene and safety standards, including:
- Conducting risk assessments
- Enforcing cleaning protocols to ultra-high standards
- Overseeing kitchen maintenance when the Chef Manager is absent
- Assisting in menu planning to align with dietary requirements and resident preferences.

Requirements
We’re seeking an experienced, passionate, and ambitious chef to join our exceptional team. You’ll need:
- Proven chef experience, ideally within a catering or care home environment.
- Experience as a Chef, Sous Chef, or equivalent role (minimum 3 years preferred).
- City & Guilds 7061 or an NVQ Level 2 in Catering for the Hospitality Industry (or equivalent).
- A valid Food Hygiene Certificate.
- A passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred nutrition.
- Attitude! Proactive, take-initiative, and committed to excellence in cooking.
- Strong communication skills—you’ll interact with residents, guests, and visiting families.
