Chef – Kitchen Support Role
Location: Copthorne Hotel, Newcastle Upon Tyne
The Copthorne Hotel Newcastle Upon Tyne is seeking an experienced Chef to work closely with the Head Chef and support kitchen operations.
This opportunity is ideal whether you’re seeking progression in your career or looking for your next culinary challenge.
Role Responsibilities
As a Chef, your responsibilities will include:
- Working collaboratively with the Head Chef, taking ownership of the kitchen brigade during shift leadership
- Supervising delivery receipt, conducting delivery controls, and authorising goods acceptance via signature
- Ensuring proper storage of delivered items while adhering to hygiene and safety procedures
- Inspecting all food quality before service to maintain standards of presentation and service
- Complying with Health & Safety, Hotel regulations, Food Safety, and Emergency protocols
- Collaborating with the Head Chef to define food preparation and presentation standards
- Supporting menu planning, staying within cost targets while maintaining quality targets
- Assisting with staff training, documenting training records, and supporting appraisal processes

Key Requirements & Skills
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience in the hotel industry, preferably within a herefore kitchen environment
- Strong food preparation skills and experience in people management
- Proven culinary expertise in a professional setting
Essential Skills & Attributes
- Enthusiastic, motivated, and detail-oriented
- Ability to communicate effectively with other departments to ensure operational alignment
- Strong sense of accuracy and adherence to procedures

Salary Range: £27,060.80 – £31,750.00 (depending on experience)
