Chef Role – Contract Catering

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday

About the Role

Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Handle day-to-day food preparation and duties assigned by senior chefs to meet site standards and quality
  • Manage cooking processes at your assigned station, ensuring timely delivery of dishes
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety, hygiene, and correct use of departmental utensils and equipment
  • Monitor inventory and notify senior chefs when supplies (fresh ingredients, catering necessities) are running low
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to maintain high-quality food and service throughout shifts
  • Demonstrate a passion for street food and international cuisines
  • Assist with stocktakes, ordering, and staff supervision
  • Ensure compliance with all regulations in a busy team environment

Responsibilities

  • Proven experience as a Chef in Contract Catering is highly desired
  • Must possess:
    • Level 2 qualification in Catering and Hospitality or equivalent
    • Proficiency in various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and processes
    • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
    • Excellent teamwork, communication, and listening skills
    • Knowledge of food safety policies, including:
      • Receiving, preparation, storage, sanitation
      • Menu items (recipes, production, and presentation)

Ideal Candidate Requirements

  • Must-haves:
    • Right to Work in the UK
    • Willingness to undergo a DBS or Enhanced Security Check
    • Basic certifications (such as City & Guilds, BTEC, or NVQ)
    • preferable: Level 2 Food Hygiene Course completion
  • Essential:
    • Strong customer service skills
    • Exceptional time management and organisational abilities
