Chef Apprenticeship
As a Chef with Harvester, you’ll be responsible for creating delicious food that keeps guests coming back. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment and work collaboratively with your team.
Requirements
- No prior experience necessary – full training will be provided.
- Willingness to learn.

Responsibilities
- Communicate openly with the team to deliver excellent food and service, fostering a supportive atmosphere.
- Assist other team members whenever possible.
- Participate and contribute insights in team meetings.
- Prepare, cook, and present food quickly, safely, and efficiently to brand standards.
- Handle guest queries and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the kitchen and back-of-house areas with attention to detail.
- Set up and close down the department, including stock rotation, prep, and par processes.
- Stay updated on business information, promotions, and new products.
- Participate in all in-house training, e-learning, and complete assigned learning modules.
- Adhere to brand standards, licensing laws, and all company policies and procedures.
- Complete all appropriate documentation, due diligence records, and daily/weekly cleaning tasks.

Apprenticeship Details
- Work towards a Production Chef Level 2 Apprenticeship standard over 15 months.
- Full-time role in the kitchen with supervision and training.
- Gain a nationally recognised qualification.
- Support kitchen operations and ensure quality for guests.
What your apprenticeship includes:
- Work-based training: no college attendance required.
- Mixture of face-to-face sessions and remote team calls with a Lifetime Learner Coach every 6 weeks.
- Workplace mentor for support.
- Obtain Functional Skills in English and Maths (if GCSE or equivalents are not held).
- Reviews every 12 weeks with the Apprentice, Line Manager, and Lifetime Learner Coach, including feedback sessions.
