Qualified Chef Wanted: Bank Chef (Casual, Part-Time) at Barchester
Are you a qualified chef looking to work with fresh seasonal food, with the opportunity to have more of a work-life balance and make what you do matter?
This is a casual, part-time role with flexible working hours. As a Bank Chef at Barchester, you’ll deliver hotel/restaurant standards while avoiding the stress of split shifts and long weeks. You’ll assist the Head Chef in crafting nutritious, balanced, and flavourful menus, working closely with residents to tailor them to their individual needs. We take pride in delivering person-centred hospitality and are looking for warm, motivated, and passionate chefs committed to quality.

Key Requirements
NEED TO HAVE
- A personable, warm approach with a genuine interest in residents’ wellbeing
- City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ qualification or equivalent nutrition/culinary knowledge
- Team leadership experience—ability to inspire and guide staff
- Strong understanding of nutrition and seasonal cooking
- Experience creating a warm, welcoming kitchen environment
- Good grasp of HACCP principles
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence
- Work with fresh seasonal produce to deliver high-quality, wholesome dishes
- Foster a warm, efficient, and enjoyable team culture
- Budget management
- Regular audits to maintain standards
- Stock control with precision
- Assist in leading, motivating, and developing the team
