📌 Requirements

✅ Necessary Skills / Qualifications

  • Must be personable, warm and genuinely interested in residents’ wellbeing
  • Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent cookery qualification
  • Team leadership experience – ability to inspire and mentor colleagues
  • Strong understanding of nutrition
  • Experience cooking with fresh seasonal ingredients
  • Ability to create a welcoming and inclusive kitchen environment
  • Proven HACCP knowledge and best practice

💼 Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the kitchen temporarily in the Head Chef’s absence
  • Source, work with and prepare fresh produce to deliver high-quality, nutritious meals
  • Support creating a motivating and efficient team culture
  • Budget and portion control to maximise ingredients and food waste reduction
  • Conduct regular internal audits and food safety checks
  • Manage stock and inventory effectively
  • Assisting the Head Chef in team motivation and operational tasks
