Salary: Up to £13.82 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

Circle Reading Hospital is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Chef to join their team of staff in the Catering department.

This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

Duties Of This Role Include

  • Prepare and deliver meals to an agreed standard for patients, staff, visitors, and events within the hospital.
  • Ensure food is cooked and presented in line with daily menus, dietary requirements, and portion control guidelines.
  • Carry out all kitchen duties as required, ensuring efficiency across food production, cleaning, and service areas.
  • Complete and maintain documentation related to food safety, temperature checks, allergen control, and visitor access to back-of-house areas.
  • Comply with Health and Safety at Work Regulations, COSHH, HACCP, manual handling, and fire safety policies.
  • Understand and respond appropriately to emergency procedures and alarms.

Applicants Should Meet The Following Criteria

  • Experience working in an operational kitchen to at least Chef de Partie level.
  • Sound knowledge of kitchen operations and the ability to work across all kitchen departments.
  • Proficiency in knife handling and basic cooking techniques.
  • Basic Food Hygiene certification.
  • Knowledge of COSHH, HACCP, and safe working practices in a kitchen environment.
  • Ability to work flexibly across shift patterns between 06:00 and 20:00, including weekends.
