Chef De Partie at Thornbury Castle
Relais & Chateau at Thornbury Castle are seeking a Chef De Partie to join their talented brigade of chefs, working in a unique and beautifully restored Castle and four Red Star boutique hotels.
About Us
- Set on 15 acres of beautiful land, Thornbury Castle Hotel is the only Tudor Castle operating as a hotel in England.
- Recently underwent a multi-million pound refurbishment programme, restoring the regal grandeur of its past.
- Located 20 minutes’ drive from Bristol, offering:
- 26 rooms and suites
- An award-winning restaurant, bar
- Two unique meeting and conference spaces
- Focuses on a modern British cuisine, using locally sourced produce from their kitchen garden and the southwest.
- Open 7 days a week, serving:
- Breakfast
- Afternoon tea
- Dinner
- Sunday lunch

Job Description
- Eligible to work in the UK.
- No visa sponsorship required.
- Full-time permanent position (48 hours per week).
- Salary: £32,000 per annum.
- Additional share of service charge and tips (paid monthly, approx. £3.5k annually).
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the preparation and service in a particular section, supporting the team and assisting colleagues.
- Ensuring a high level of food quality and preparation.
- Natural ability as a chef with outstanding attention for detail.
- Assisting with menu development.
- Ability to work unsupervised with initiative.
- Strict adherence to food safety and health & safety procedures.
Requirements
- A truly talented Chef with:
- A professional approach
- Great passion and flair for the industry and food
- Experience at a 3 AA Rosette environment (ideal) or:
- At least 5 years’ experience in 2 AA Rosette within a similar role or above
- A calm, mature, and resilient approach that thrives under pressure.
- A dedicated, excellent team player with strong communication skills.
- Ambition to succeed.
