Chef De Partie at Thornbury Castle

Relais & Chateau at Thornbury Castle are seeking a Chef De Partie to join their talented brigade of chefs, working in a unique and beautifully restored Castle and four Red Star boutique hotels.


About Us

  • Set on 15 acres of beautiful land, Thornbury Castle Hotel is the only Tudor Castle operating as a hotel in England.
  • Recently underwent a multi-million pound refurbishment programme, restoring the regal grandeur of its past.
  • Located 20 minutes’ drive from Bristol, offering:
    • 26 rooms and suites
    • An award-winning restaurant, bar
    • Two unique meeting and conference spaces
  • Focuses on a modern British cuisine, using locally sourced produce from their kitchen garden and the southwest.
  • Open 7 days a week, serving:
    • Breakfast
    • Afternoon tea
    • Dinner
    • Sunday lunch

Job Description

  • Eligible to work in the UK.
  • No visa sponsorship required.
  • Full-time permanent position (48 hours per week).
  • Salary: £32,000 per annum.
  • Additional share of service charge and tips (paid monthly, approx. £3.5k annually).

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the preparation and service in a particular section, supporting the team and assisting colleagues.
  • Ensuring a high level of food quality and preparation.
  • Natural ability as a chef with outstanding attention for detail.
  • Assisting with menu development.
  • Ability to work unsupervised with initiative.
  • Strict adherence to food safety and health & safety procedures.

Requirements

  • A truly talented Chef with:
    • A professional approach
    • Great passion and flair for the industry and food
  • Experience at a 3 AA Rosette environment (ideal) or:
    • At least 5 years’ experience in 2 AA Rosette within a similar role or above
  • A calm, mature, and resilient approach that thrives under pressure.
  • A dedicated, excellent team player with strong communication skills.
  • Ambition to succeed.
