Chef de Partie
Location: Seaford College, Petworth – West Sussex (GU28 0NB)
Contract Type: Full-time (40 hours per week) Salary: £30,000 – £31,500 per annum
Hours & Shift Patterns:
- Term time: Tuesday to Saturday (6:45am–3:15pm, 9:00am–5:30pm, 10:30am–7:00pm)
- Out of term time: Monday to Friday (6:45am–3:15pm)

About the Role
We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Chef de Partie to join the kitchen team at Seaford College.
You’ll support food preparation, uphold high standards, and play a key role in delivering daily meals and special events. Our seven-Michelin-starred catering company, Holroyd Howe, provides innovative fresh food services specifically tailored for independent schools and colleges.

Holroyd Howe trains and develops teams to customise catering for children of all ages, meeting the unique needs of each institution.
This role is based in a remote location within the South Downs, requiring a full driver’s licence and access to a car. Public transport is not a realistic option.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations
- Motivate the team to deliver high standards of food and service
- Ensure food safety and allergen controls are adhered to
- Contribute to innovative menu planning
- Manage mise en place and ensure smooth, timely service
- Support events, functions, and school life
Qualifications & Candidate Profile
- Ideally:
- Experience as a Sous Chef or Chef de Partie, preferably in contract catering, independent education, or a business/industry setting
- Passion for fresh, seasonal food and creative presentation
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high food safety standards
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
- A flexible and proactive approach to work
