Chef de Partie

Job Title: Chef de Partie Location: RGS – Royal Grammar School, Guildford Royal Grammar School, High St, Guildford, UK


Contract Type: 40 working weeks (term-time only) Salary: £14.50 per hour Working Pattern: Monday – Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (with some paid overtime available on evenings & weekends)

About the Role

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Chef de Partie to join the kitchen team at RGS – Royal Grammar School, Guildford. You’ll support food preparation, help maintain high standards, and play a vital role in delivering daily meals and special events.

You will be joining Holroyd Howe, one of the UK’s leading contract caterers, specialising in fresh, innovative food services for independent schools and colleges. We provide tailored solutions to meet the bespoke requirements of each school, focusing on children of all ages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Head Chef in daily kitchen operations
  • Motivate the team to deliver high standards of food and service
  • Ensure food safety and allergen controls are consistently met
  • Contribute to innovative menu planning
  • Manage mise en place and ensure smooth, timely service
  • Support events and functions alongside school life

Qualifications & Candidate Profile

Ideally, you will have experience as a:

  • Sous Chef or Chef de Partie (within contract catering, preferably in independent education or a high-profile setting).

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high food safety standards
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • A flexible and proactive approach to work
