Company Description
Relais & Chateau at Thornbury Castle are seeking a Chef De Partie to join our talented brigade of chefs. You will be working in a unique and beautifully restored Tudor Castle, as well as a four Red Star boutique hotel.
About Us
Set on 15 acres of beautiful land, Thornbury Castle Hotel is the only Tudor Castle operating as a hotel in England. Recently refurbished with a multi-million-pound programme, it now showcases regal grandeur. Just 20 minutes from Bristol, it features:
- 26 rooms and suites
- An award-winning restaurant & bar
- Two unique meeting/conference spaces
- Modern British cuisine, using locally-sourced ingredients from our kitchen garden

Job Description
Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship).
Position:
- Full-time, permanent (48 hours per week)
- Annual salary: £32,000 (or £35,000 depending on experience)
- Monthly service charge & tip allocation (~£3.5k annually)
Responsibilities
- Lead a specific section of the kitchen, supporting and mentoring colleagues
- Ensure high food quality and impeccable preparation standards
- Requires natural culinary talent with outstanding attention to detail
- Collaborate on menu development
- Work independently with initiative
- Strict adherence to all food safety and health & safety protocols
Requirements
- A truly talented chef with passion and flair for hospitality
- Ideal: Experience in 3 AA Rosette kitchens or 5+ years at 2 AA Rosette kitchens in a similar role
- A composed, resilient personality under pressure
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills
- Ambitious and driven
