Carriages is a prestigious, award-winning restaurant, renowned for delivering exceptional food, outstanding service, and a truly memorable dining experience. Driven by excellence, attention to detail, and consistently exceeding guest expectations.
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Chef de Partie to join our fine dining experience. The role is based on our Hereford site at Whitestone.

Within This Role You Will
- Prepare and deliver high-quality dishes during service.
- Set up your section and ensure it’s fully stocked and organised.
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and safety standards.
- Support stock control and minimise waste.
- Work closely with the wider kitchen team to deliver a seamless service.
- Take pride in consistency, presentation, and attention to detail.

This role offers 37.5 hours per week, worked in line with the rota, with the ability to cover the main core services Thursday & Friday evenings 4pm-11pm, Saturday 11am-11pm and Sunday 10am-5pm. There may also be the opportunity for paid additional hours, depending on the requirements of the rota and business needs.
About You
We’re looking for someone who takes real pride in their craft and enjoys working as part of a professional, high-performing kitchen team.
You’ll Bring
- Experience at Commis Chef or Chef de Partie level within a professional kitchen
- Strong foundational culinary skills and preparation techniques
- Confidence working across a range of cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment
- The ability to stay organised, focused, and calm under pressure during busy service
- A proactive, team-oriented approach with excellent communication skills
- A passion for learning, with the ability to quickly adapt to new recipes and ways of working
- Good time management and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail
- A solid understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (Level 2 Food Hygiene or equivalent preferred)
- Flexibility to support the needs of the rota and the wider team
