The Role: Chef de Partie
As a Chef de Partie, you’ll play a key operational role in maintaining and elevating kitchen standards within Eden Hall Spa. Reporting to the Head Chef and Sous Chef, you’ll ensure the seamless functioning of the kitchen—balancing culinary excellence, hygiene compliance, and team performance.
Under your leadership, you’ll contribute to: ✅ Operational efficiency (stock management, supplier liaison, cost control) ✅ Food safety and quality (aka compliance, allergen awareness) ✅ Team dynamics (training, mentoring, performance boosts) ✅ Menu innovation (creative, high-quality dishes from fresh ingredients)
In the Head Chef’s absence, you’ll take full responsibility for kitchen management, ensuring excellent service and team cohesion.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
- Oversee daily kitchen workflows, ensuring smooth coordination between stations.
- Monitor stock levels, replenish inventory, and maintain cost-effective purchasing.
- Liaise with suppliers, negotiating quality and pricing to meet budget constraints.

Food Quality & Safety
- Enforce strict food hygiene protocols in line with regulatory standards.
- Monitor allergen controls and food safety management systems rigorously.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment, storage, and workspaces to prevent contamination.
Team Leadership
- Train, supervise, and mentor kitchen staff to exceed culinary standards.
- Foster a positive work culture through effective communication and feedback.
- Lead on-the-spot training and ensure adherence to HACCP policies.
Menu & Creative Adaptations
- Assist in menu planning, recipe development, and innovation using fresh, high-quality ingredients.
- Adapt menus to meet guest preferences while maintaining quality standards.
Cleanliness & Hygiene
- Maintain a sterile, professional kitchen environment in line with health standards.
- Follow strict cleaning schedules for workstations, storage, and equipment.
Customer-Centric Approach
- Address guest requests with professionalism and expertise.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared, presented, and served to the highest possible standard.
Personal Specification
Essential Criteria
- Proven experience in a high-end restaurant, hotel, or spa kitchen environment.
- Strong commitment to high culinary standards and quality-focused operations.
- Deep knowledge of food safety regulations (HACCP, allergen management, hygiene codes).
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, team-dependent environment.
- Natural leadership capable of executing sustained excellence while maintaining a positive atmosphere.

Desirable Traits
- Knowledge of luxury hospitality Küchenchef standards.
- Experience in training or mentoring junior kitchen staff.
- An understanding of ingredient sourcing and seasonal menus.
Additional Information
- Salary: £32,691.53 per annum.
- Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, over 5 days of the week.
- Schedule:
- 4 mornings/afternoons: 07:30–16:00 hrs.
- 1 evening shift: 13:30–22:00 hrs.
- Flexibility: Expected to adjust shifts as required to meet kitchen demands.
